National Pike Festival Wagon Train - May 18, 2025

"Travel the Road that Made the Nation" Wagon trains have been rolling since 1989 as a part of the Maryland segment of the Washington County National Pike Festival. With its strategic geographical location between the Allegheny Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains, Washington County played a key role in opening the West to our nation.


Authentic wagon trains pulled by horses and mules re-enact the travel during the 1797 development of the National Pike beginning in Clear Spring on Friday and ending with old fashioned activities in Shafer Park around 12:30 - 1PM.


The Wagon Train down Main Street, loop around the traffic circle, come back down Main Street & enter Shafer Park through the main Park entrance this year.

Wagon Train arrival times will as follows:
- They will be on Main Street at 12 noon, and it will take them about 30-45 minutes to loop the circle & come back to the Park entrance.
- They will be in the Park by 12:30 – 12:45pm


Pony rides will be provided for children in the Park, as well as blacksmith and spinning demonstrations.

Food items will be available to purchase from local non-profit groups.
