Request for Proposals: Shafer Park Pond Pavilion

PROJECT OVERVIEW: The Mayor and Council of Boonsboro, Maryland, is requesting bid proposals from qualified contractors to construct a pavilion near the Hawkins Grove Pond in Shafer

SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of work consists of the construction of a 24-ft x 40-ft wood post pavilion with metal roofing, lighting, and electric, to be located on the paved parking area near the Hawkins Grove Pond in Shafer Park.
• The pavilion should be constructed according to RCP Shelters, Inc. model number LWG2440- 03 or equivalent.
• Electric should be run to the site, with two outlets, and lighting style PLT-13015 - 15,600 Lumens/120 Watt/LED (quantity 2) or equivalent.
• A 24-ft x 40-ft concrete pad should be poured on top of the existing pavement where the pavilion is to be located. Site map is attached.

Contractors submitting bids must be able to complete the project by November 1, 2027.

A pre-bid meeting for all interested contractors is scheduled for September 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Hawkins Grove Pond in Shafer Park, 47 Park Drive, Boonsboro, MD 21713.

INQUIRIES AND RECEIPT OF BID PROPOSALS: Bids must be received by the Town of Boonsboro, either by mail or hand delivery, no later than 2:00 PM on October 8, 2026, in a sealed envelope marked “Shafer Park Pond Pavilion” at the address below. Any bids received after the above time will not be accepted under any circumstances. Any uncertainty regarding the time a bid is received will be resolved against the bidder. Bids shall remain valid for 90 days. All bidders are notified that regarding any contract pursuant to this advertisement, businesses will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subject to discrimination on the basis of gender, race, color, creed, sex, age, physical disability, or national origin in consideration for an award.
