*Environmental Commission Meeting

This is the monthly meeting of the Boonsboro Environmental Commission.

The Boonsboro Environmental Commission will be hosting guest speaker, Alex Pellegrini, the Farmland Raptor Coordinator from the Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership at the BEC’s June 10th meeting at 7pm. The BEC’s meetings are held in the Boonsboro Town Hall Annex and are open to the public.
Boonsboro’s relationship with the Farmland Raptor group developed through an Eagle Scout Project from Troop 20. The Eagle Scout wanted to install Owl boxes in Shafer Park and sought advice from the Farmland Raptor Program. Shafer Park now has 2 Barn Owl boxes and 6 Screech Owl boxes which Troop 20 is monitoring along with their mentors from the Farmland Raptor group. Michelle and Jayson Huston, the mentors from the Farmland Raptor group, have also been invited to attend.
