Annual Fishing Derby 2026
Saturday, May 2, 2026 - 8AM to 12:00 Noon
The Town’s fishing derby is held at the Town’s 'Hawkins Grove' fishing pond located behind the Boonsboro Library on Potomac Street for children ages 1 to 12 years old. (Please use the Shafer Park entrance and parking lot beside the Police Department at 241 Potomac Street)
Free Admission!!
Ages 2 - 8 years old
Registration from 8AM to 8:30 AM
Fishing from 8:30 to 9:30 AM
Ages 9 - 12 years old
Registration from 9:30 to 10:00 AM
Fishing from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
*Families can come to the later time slot if they want their younger children to fish with their older children.
*Fishing poles will be provided for any child who doesn't have one.

Hawkins Grove Pond REGULATIONS:
This is a Maryland Nontidal Sport Fishing Pond.
Special provisions enforced by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources limits fishing in this area to persons that are:
Handicapped and/or Blind Children ages 16 and Under Adults age 65 and Older
